Most Common Complaints and Errors in Windows 8

Other than the fact that Windows 8 has the fastest startup in all the Windows versions,

there is less argument to support why you should go for Windows 8 rather than any previous

version. Well, one can be that it's a step forward and all the latest Windows services and

applications will be made specifically for Windows 8, while being compatible with the

others. But the things about Windows 8 that gets people really going on about it are the

errors and complaints. In fact, there are Windows 8 dedicated forums all over the internet

where users complain about this error and that.

However, everything has a solution. A list of common Windows user issues and error messages

has been compiled and how they can be resolved.

1. Common User Issues

Common user issues have become a topic of debate on Windows 8 forums. These issues include

things we normally do on our computers such as synchronizing our smart phones, sharing files

on mail, and multiple others. Additionally, there are situations in which we insert a USB in

its respective drive but it goes unrecognizable or Windows is not activated etc. While these

errors are quite infamous and known for popping up at the most inopportune time, they can be

dealt with. There are solutions.

· Mobile Phone Not Synching

More often than not, when you try to sync your mobile phone with your Windows 8, it'll

prompt you to connect your phone even though it's already connected. To resolve this issue,

follow these steps:

Uninstall all the software associated with your mobile phone. For instance, if you use a

Windows Phone, uninstall Windows Phone 8 App, Windows Desktop Phone Desktop App, and Zune.

The next step is to unplug your mobile phone and reboot the system. It's then required that

you shutdown the system and restart your phone. Plug your phone back into the computer and

turn it on. The final step is to install Windows Phone 8 and sync.

· Can't Share Photos on Mail

These messages can normally appear when your photos or files fail to attach and send. To

resolve the error, check whether your internet connection is working properly. If it is,

then verify that the files you are trying to attach and send do not exceed the size limit of

your email server. If the problem still persists, then you can close your email server,

disconnect the internet connection, and then connect it back again.

· Can't Recognize USB Device

It's never easy getting your USB device plugged-in with the first try. Even if you do, you

can encounter this error as it is more like a common feature in Windows 8 now. This error

occurs because your Windows 8 has failed to predict the device. If your USB device is

working properly in other systems, then you can troubleshoot this problem by following the

steps below:

o Unplug the USB device and wait for 30 seconds, then plug it in again in a different USB

port.

o If the error reoccurs, reboot your PC while keeping the USB device plugged in

o Still unable to resolve error? Get an appropriate driver package.

· System Can't Find the Path Specified

This error is normally in the form, 'could not enable file history.' What does this mean?

There has been a failure in data substantiating via the backup solution in Windows 8 File

History. In simple words, your Windows 8 is unable to detect the backup drive required to

seal files in. In order to resolve this issue, follow these steps:

o Check whether the backup drive is connected and able to be viewed in your system.

o Check whether the backup drive has the folder named 'FileHistory'. If there's no folder

bearing that name, create one.

· Windows 8 Is Not Activated

This is another common user issue faced by computer users if Windows 8 isn't activated or

registered by Microsoft. Windows 8 is basically a modern technology Operating System that

requires the detail of every copy of the Windows to be listed in the Microsoft's copy

protection scheme. If you encounter this issue, follow these steps to active your Windows 8:

o In the Windows Activation box, click on 'Learn More' to get a better outline of the issue.

o Once you figure out the issue, call Microsoft and tell them the Windows 8 version that was

previously sold to you is a counterfeit.

· Insert Media

You will most likely encounter this message if you have not properly installed Windows 8 on

your system. This message requires you to install specific files to use the Add/Remove

components, Troubleshoot tools, and/or access Advanced Startup options. To resolve these

issues, follow these steps:

o Insert the original Windows 8 installation media in the drive and then Windows will

extract the required files and components automatically.

o Provide the installation with a path that leads to the installation files in your drives.

If the problem still persists, you can contact Windows and get assistance.

then on Windows 8. Some of the common Windows 8 errors that you are likely to encounter will
